Balanced Rock

Balanced Rock towers more than 48 feet high and weighs around 40 tons, perched atop a slender rock pedestal that seems to defy gravity. Wind, time, and natural erosion have sculpted this dramatic formation into a must-see sight in the Salmon Falls Creek Canyon. Visitors can hike up a short but somewhat steep trail to take in panoramic views, explore the surrounding canyon landscape, and enjoy picnics in the adjacent park. The scale, shape, and setting make it a powerful symbol of nature’s artistry.
